This is CRUCIAL, HB 2306 End Marijuana Prohibition

The title is a link to find your US Representative in Congress. Please click it, find out who they are, and completely inundate them with calls and e-mails.

Let them know that if they don't vote yes for this bill, that you will be voting against them in the next election.
This is very important, this bill would allow the States to regulate, tax, and control Cannabis on their own levels. Including even allowing the local jurisdictions final say.

This is truly how our government is meant to be. The Federal Government should stay out of our personal lives. This is a key issue of Freedom of Choice, and if you agree that everyone who is a legal adult (by a State level could be 18, could be 21) to make their own choices regarding the consequences of what they put in their bodies. So long as they are fully informed of the consequences, and can safely obtain a product that is known to be of a specific potency and quality control.

This is where this bill is truly superior. It simply eliminates the Federal Government's role in regulating any commerce that takes place within a State's own borders. The Feds would still be responsible for monitoring for trafficking across State lines or Internationally. However, finally, the States would be able to tax, regulate, and control the Marijuana being grown in their borders. This would also mean a higher level of safety standards preventing children from obtaining Cannabis.

If it were to be legalized in the States that choose to make it so, then they would have a decreased demand in the Black Market, and therefore it would be less profitable for criminals to sell it. This would enormously reduce the availability to children. The reason kids (anyone under 18 in my opinion) are able to obtain Marijuana easier than Alcohol, is BECAUSE of it's prohibition, not in spite of it.

If we make this fell swoop change to our Federal Regulations, the implications would be tremendous and nearly immediate. All the State's that legalize Marijuana (probably beginning with the 16 States and District of Columbia, who have already legalized it's medical use.) would immediately begin to see an increase in revenue in the State's coffers. A boost that would be badly needly, and welcomely deserved to the Schools, Roads, and even Chemical Dependency Facilities.

This boost in revenue, it could be withheld from the Federal Government entirely. Although, I don't see that happening, I see the State's contributing at least a portion of the tax revenues generated to the Federal Coffers. This would make a powerful dent in the Federal Budget Deficit, which is the only way to begin paying down the national debt.

Secondly, and almost as immediately, would be the secondary impact of boosting the economic demand for other services and goods that would receive additional growth simply by the cottage industries that could pop up all over due to Marijuana legalization. There are truly too many to name, but the few that come to the top of my mind: Fast Food and/or Junk Food, Video Games, Books, and Movies are likely to sell more, industry catering to growers, medicated edible producers, and so much more.

There would also be boosts to Local, State, and Federal taxes associated with these industries as well.

Finally, I would like to speak out just on the terms of Consequence. Whether or not you like Marijuana, you have to look at the consequences of it's prohibition versus the consequences of not prohibiting it. The consequences of prohibition are huge, and include: Ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans each year, creating a Black Market and artificial scarcity, which artificially increases demand, resulting in huge markup in price, resulting in higher profits for the criminals, which ultimately funds their nefarious activities and allows them to commit even worse atrocities thanks to the profits generated by the artificially high priced Marijuana.

If Marijuana were not prohibited: It could be taxed, regulated, and controlled, resulting in increase in quality and safety of the product, especially for medical use, along with restricting the access to only adults or those who have a prescription. This makes it especially hard to have a Black Market for Marijuana, because the prices would probably go down, reducing profits for the criminals, along with the demand going down because it would be legally and safely available. If this were to happen, even growers that want to make a living off of it in their own State would be able to do so, and it would allow them to grow larger quantities to match demand.

Finally, remember, it's not the Government's place to decide what you can and cannot do to yourself. That's the real crux of the argument. They can tell you six ways from Sunday how not to hurt another individual, but in finality, they cannot and should not tell you what to do to yourself.

Freedom of Choice. Choose Ron Paul in 2012, he's the best Candidate to Clean Up America's Debt, and Restore the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

What's going on?

At the time of writing this blog, there is a small group of intellectual and financial elites that are meeting to make decisions that will influence the political, financial, and social changes of the next year and more. This group, known as the Bilderberg Group, has been meeting since 1954, and literally has always composed of the most significantly influential people of the world.

Now, most people in the United States are either blissfully unaware, or deny the existence of this group and it's influence and effects. If you mention organizations like The Council on Foreign Relations, or The Trilateral Commission, to anyone on the street or in any public forum, you are almost immediately accused of being a "Conspiracy Theorist" or "Crackpot Conspiracy Nut." And the truth is, these are simply ad hominim attacks on the individual to avoid the real argument at hand which is, "Why do we allow a group of globalist, collectivist, and elitist banksters and corporate thugs, rule our lives and our political and financial systems?"

This is the truly phenomenal thing about the majority. We are easily manipulated by following anything we're presented via "Mainstream" media and entertainment. That's the incredible thing, we are literally molding minds with the mediums such as Television, Movies, Books, Magazines, and especially Blogs and Podcasts. The beauty of the latter two, is that it isn't currently limited by any kind of government or global organization. Right now, you can post anything you want on the internet, as long as you're willing to pay for the domain name and hosting, to put whatever content on the internet you feel should be shared.

That's an incredible tool, and unfortunately, I think it's also being co-opted and controlled in small ways by the same group of people attempting to control the entire internet, and that currently control our "Mainstream" media. The reason I continue to use quotes around the word "Mainstream" is that, I think, in this current internet age we can finally move beyond a concept of mainstream, and finally allow information to be free.

Currently, several people use the web in a misanthropic, myopic way that is going to manipulate and control the thinking of several people. In fact, several people are even aware that they are being manipulated and controlled, and they seemingly don't care. Take, for instance, the current TSA controversy including several lawsuits being filed against TSA employees, and yet 95% of people travelling today, don't protest at all about the so-called "Naked Body Scanners" and invasive, unconstitutional, groping searches being conducted.

I've done several searches, and unfortunately, the "Mainstream" media and their co-horts, have been able to put their own spin on these things and in New Mexico, have managed to turn the situation around and make it seem that due to the problem of "mis-guided" or "poorly trained" security personnel, that the TSA now needs to step in and oversee all searches and security. It's scary that the vast majority of Americans are willing to blindly accept this kind of Orwellian control, and Big-Brother type of society. We are also increasing cameras, checkpoints, and biometrics including the use of implantable RFID locators that will literally keep track of you as you go through your day in the city you live, or wherever you go.

This is all not very far away. In fact, there was a news article about a family in Florida that was the first to be implanted with RFID chips. Now, I don't claim that we're all going to be tracked every moment of every day, and that there will be no freedom or livelihood, or that we'll become enslaved by the digital devices we love so much. However, there really isn't too much a stretch of the imagination that ends up at that scenario.

We can change it though. There is still a chance, because as long as we still have free information available on the internet, and we don't allow the politicians and "officials" to control the access to it, then people can wake up and force a change. I don't espouse that we need to become some sort of Anarchistic society, however, enabling individuals to be more involved in the issues that will utterly dominate our lives then we would all be better equipped to protect our liberty.

Let's not forget that the founders of this great country of ours had a significant disdain for the concept of big government, or government control over the lives and minds of all it's citizens. In fact, the Constitution is an anti-collectivist document. When reading all of the non-rhetorical statements in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, you find that our founders essentially wanted to protect the rights and minds of all individuals and allow them to flourish by creating a safe environment for them to grow.

That may have been how our country was run and flourished through it's first century. However, it is quite obvious that beginning in the 20th Century, our government became hijacked by the mafia of the Rothschilds and Rockefellers. The big banks and corporations were able to pass the Federal Reserve act, which created a central bank in America that is literally a private organization owned by banks.

The concept of a Central Bank, by the way, was propounded by the Communist Manifesto, along with a graduated income tax. Which was the next big change implemented by Wilson, in the 20's with the 17th Amendment, which was never properly ratified, but by that point it didn't matter because our government was finally fully hijacked by the Corporate/Banking Mafia. That's really what they are too, a mafia, a criminal organization operating as though they are legitimate.

A large portion of Americans don't even know these things. Because the most important events they ever notice are the Grammys, the Academy Awards, and the Superbowl. Welcome to the true epitome of George Orwell's 1984. We are being kept controlled through entertainment, and the government gets bigger and bigger, and expands it's control and dominion over the lives of every citizen. Everyone in the system thinks that it is still working, and that they're doing their part. However, due to the control and influence of the "Shadow Government" such as organizations like the CFR, UN, World Bank, IMF, and Bilderberg Group.

This is what needs to be essentially brought to bear, as the downfall of individualism. If you feel as though being controlled by the government is okay, then you obviously don't need to do anything. But we truly need to come together as the majority and speak out against these groups. No longer will we be condemned as "Conspiracy Theorists" because these groups operate entirely out in the open. They aren't even secretive about their agendas. It is their goal to turn the world in to "One World Government." They will eventually want more and more power and control over each individual, and eventually, the illusion of democracy and capitalism will break down, and more will realize that the true system is hegemonic dictatorship. With a president that is no more elected than Hussein or Jong-il.

The reality of the political system in the United States in the 21st century is that we have two political parties simply so the banksters and corporations can control who comes into office simply through finances. It will cost anyone hundreds of millions of dollars to run for president, and essentially it is a waste of money if you can't latch on to one of the major political parties. Look at Ralph Nader, he has attempted for years to run for president on the Green Party ticket, and spends millions of his own money, and through campaign contributions, and never can achieve more than 10% of the votes.

Unless we move to a new evolution in the political system, we cannot change this. I propose that we abolish the party system all together, and we create new regulations for the presidency. There should be reform in the ability for candidates to accept donations from corporations or individuals, because of that huge influence that corporations can have over a presidency that the average individual simply can't have.

This is why we aren't a true democracy, because even though everyone has a single vote. The people that run, are really already pre-selected by the corporate thugs and banksters in control. It's very simple, if I give you the option of shooting you in the leg or shooting you in the arm, either way I'm shooting you but you get the illusion of choice. Also, it's important to notice that the choice of not being shot isn't offered. That's a very concise analogy of our political system.

If we were to make these simple changes, and we could do more to make people politically active. We could see some real change in government. Right now, the vast majority of politicians are simply in it for fame, fortune, and most importantly, power. There are only a small few that actually seek to make the country, and the world, a better place. However, there is only so much the small minority can do against a huge group of thugs that are backed, and financed, by the corporate mafia. Wall Street, Corporate America, and the "Big Brother" Banks.

This is why our country has gone into decline. We currently have a national debt over $16 trillion. It's almost impossible for any person to imagine this amount of money. At a population of around 310 million, that's over $47,000 for every man, woman, and child. This is phenomenally large, and we will never be able to pay it back. There is no way we will ever be able to pay it back either, because you can't make money from borrowing money.

There has to be a change, a major change in our way of doing things. We can do this, and we can change, and we can evolve. It just takes more people. Tell everyone you know, and even though they may not like it, if they're your friends or family, they'll listen for at least a time. Some of them may even decide to do more. That's how it starts. We need a second American Revolution, and we can make it happen with the internet, blogs, and podcasts. We can't give up, because once you lose your freedoms and rights, they'll never return.

First Class

I had an epiphany whilst gazing upon the mesmerizing cinematography of "X-Men: The First Class" and thinking about the plot line.

This epiphany is mainly relevant to my situation as a medical Cannabis patient. However, it seems that it likely could apply to nearly all lifestyle choices.

The mutants are faced with the government wanting to regulate and track mutantkind. They start by imposing a "Voluntary" registration. This probably would just be the beginning, inevitably progressing to manual registration, then manual tracking of use, then it will be total control. I also have the sinking sensation that if 5955 does pass, the one that's just a hodgepodge of ideas that won't work together, then they'll still arrest patients that are registered. They'll just say "Oh, the network is down right now." or, "Well, your name isn't coming up (because they intentionally mis-spell your (possibly ethnic) surname.

Medical Cannabis patients in Washington are under threat of this very same system of control. The State legislators are currently attempting to force through a bill that would really do very little to help the Cannabis patients, and really only start this system of control on it's way.

There is, however, an alternative bill that is also currently in front of the legislators that would solve both the problem of patient arrests, and would eliminate the need for a patient registry system.

SB 5957 for the 2011-2012 legislative session is written to simply reschedule Cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule II under the Controlled Substances Act. This change, would be constitutionally appropriate under the Tenth Amendment, and arguably under the Ninth Amendment as well.

This change would allow doctors to legally prescribe Cannabis, as opposed to the current model in which doctors may only "recommend" it's use. It would also eliminate the legal necessity to arrest in cases of simple Cannabis possession. Police would no longer need to consider whether or not to arrest, as it could be controlled at the local level, including civil penalties for violators and and those who provide Cannabis to youths under 18, not prescribed by doctors.

Also, for those that don't believe the fact that a "voluntary" patient registration is jus the tip of the iceberg of control, I simply suggest you check out the history behind US Japanese Internment camps during WWII.

That may be an extreme example, when you examine the politics and motivations behind these cases, they are very similar indeed. The initial reason suggested is to provide security and protection, then it becomes something more. A system of indefinite enforcement and control.

This brings me back to the point about the X-Men. The mutants first simply wanted to be left alone, to be as normal as anyone else, and some thought that a registration system would protect them, give them more freedom. However, the government had other plans for this registration. First, it may have been simply to keep a watchful eye, but then they start keeping track of the mutant powers in a *database.* Sound familiar?

It should, every single day Americans are added to databases for a wide variety of reasons. But, the databases one need worry about are those in control by the Federal Government. "No-fly databases", "No-work databases (For those not allowed to work for certain agencies both public and private, due to security restrictions)", and other miscellaneous databases tracking properties such as:
"Political affiliations, pro-gun or pro-choice affiliations, groups that encourage constitutional government and reaffirmation of the Bill of Rights. Even Ron Paul supporters. If you think these lists sound ridiculous or incredulous, think again. Just look up the MIAC report, which specifically cites "Ron Paul supporters, NRA members, and Christians as possible "domestic threats."

Lastly, my main concern is that of normalcy. There is no difference between "good drugs" and "bad drugs." Drugs are drugs, and the only differences are who profits from them. Also, and more significantly, how the individual reacts to the drugs.

The only difference between the guy that owns the Pot Dispensary, and the guy living in his mom's basement, is motivation. The guy in his mom's basement is just a loser. That doesn't make Pot bad, it just means that Pot got to the loser before Heroin or Coke or Meth.

Another thing, we give our children drugs almost everyday, and in some cases we even give them amphetamines. Think that's incredible? Well, it is. In fact, it seems ludicrous that we lock people up everyday for just using crystal-Meth, and yet we give almost the very same drug to our children so that they can "concentrate" in school.

We need to rethink this pathological menace to society, painfully misnamed the "War on Drugs." The lie that is this so-called "war" is apparent when we look at the true motivation behind prohibition.

Prohibition, historically, has been used to keep prices artificially inflated, and indeed to increase demand while creating the appearance of scarcity, which in turn increases the prices, and thusly profits, accordingly. This is basic economics people, the Law of Supply and Demand. When Supply is diminished (or appears scarce) price increases, which should in turn reduce demand. However, there is the beauty (for the corporate bastards that want "drugs" to remain illegal) in it, there can never really be a reduced demand for drugs. ALL HUMANS USE DRUGS!

That's the ultimate point here, all humans, without exception, use drugs. Because even if you don't like Cannabis (I refuse to directly refer to it as Marijuana when I can avoid it, because it's a derogatory term), Cocaine, Heroin, or Crystal Meth. You use drugs, I guarantee it. Even the tribes in the rainforest that rarely see another form of human life, use drugs. Even your little babies, you give them all kinds of drugs, all the time.

Really, that's the end of that, because when you realize that everyone uses drugs, (think about it: Caffeine, Chocolate, Aloe-Vera, Mint, Tea, etc...) the only real question is "Why are the so-called 'Street Drugs' illegal?" The answer is a simple one, and it goes right back to my previous points, about the Law of Supply and Demand. The answer is Money. Our government makes TRILLIONS, with a T, a year on drugs. In fact, the legal drug industry alone is approaching a trillion dollars a year, and the government makes several shares of that, and then there is the illegal drug market. The government makes money on both sides of the law here, by importing drugs through illegal black op organizations like the CIA, and also through the different mafia groups throughout the US.

Also, they make billions on the judicial and penal systems through fees, and incarceration labor. This system, called the "Prison Planet" by some, is the largest on the planet, holding 25% of the world's prison population. (Note, the US is only about 5% of the world population.)

Another facet of increasing profits is behind the inherent risk of being involved in a criminal enterprise. By placing criminal penalties behind drug use and trafficking, this intimidates those too weak to think for themselves into one of two corners: 1. They become drug users until they are arrested or imprisoned at which point they become even further encroached into crime, or 2. They become a loyal slave to the system of control and only get their drugs from the masters.

As you can see, both of these alternatives are favorable to the institutions that place these limits on society, including the penal system, medical "care" industry, and shadow government operatives that profit on both sides of the law.

These points, none of them new, are very important for "We the People" to understand, and we need to empower everyone else to this way of thinking. Even if you don't use drugs at all, this fight is important to all of us. We must understand that drug prohibition is a "gateway" to an ultimate system of control, inevitably resulting in a police state.

Please help spread the word, and if you want more, then follow me on Twitter @Polymatheism and stay tuned for more Polymatheism podcasts, as soon as I get the computer systems back up.

Please call your Senator today!

Please people, this is SOOOOO important.

Call your State's US Senate representative today.

Dear Patriot,

The Senate will hold a critical cloture vote on renewing the Patriot Act at 5 pm eastern today, and only the immediate action of C4L members and other true patriots nationwide will put a halt to the ever-expanding surveillance state and save the Fourth Amendment from being pushed further into the shredder.

Contact Sen. Maria Cantwell by phone at (202) 224-3441 and Sen. Patty Murray by phone at (202) 224-2621 to demand they vote against renewing the “Patriot” Act on every vote – including each cloture vote.

On Friday, May 27, three provisions of the misnamed “Patriot” Act are set to expire.

In clear violation of their oaths to uphold the Constitution, the statists in Washington, D.C. are determined not to let that happen.

You see, last week, the House GOP, under the leadership of John Boehner and Eric Cantor (who are turning their backs on the limited government mandate they claimed to support in November 2010), cut yet another deal with Harry Reid – this time to extend the “Patriot” Act for four more years with as little debate as possible!

A four-year extension “conveniently” puts the next renewal vote in 2015 – a non-election year when our brave politicians won’t have to answer for their actions at the polls.

Empowered by the Republicans’ collapse on civil liberties, Harry Reid filed cloture last Thursday.

Don’t accept the statists’ pathetic excuses for one minute – a vote for “cloture” today is a vote FOR the Fourth Amendment-shredding “Patriot” Act.

Please don’t miss this point – if cloture (allowing for the bill to be debated and voted on) fails each and every time he tries it, Harry Reid CANNOT extend the “Patriot” Act.

Period.

But your senators are used to skating through on cloture votes and claiming that they are just harmless “procedure.”

Fellow Patriot, if you don’t turn up the heat on them today, they’ll say they didn’t hear from their constituents about a “procedural” vote – even one that enabled Reid to get everything he wanted with a simple majority vote on final passage.

Your phone calls today will keep that story from being true. You’ll be able to hold them accountable because you told them before the vote EXACTLY what they were going to do to the Constitution.

They need to know – TODAY – that the freedom movement is alive, well, and finished with watching them destroy our liberties.

That’s why your immediate action is needed!

Contact Sen. Maria Cantwell by phone at (202) 224-3441 and Sen. Patty Murray by phone at (202) 224-2621 to demand they vote against renewing the “Patriot” Act on every vote – including each cloture vote.

Reid’s bill is essentially the same bill the Senate and President were trying to rush through Congress without any debate in February - before Rand Paul and C4L members forced them to agree to a 90-day extension.

For ten long years, Americans have been given a false choice by their representatives and senators between trading some of their liberties for so-called “security” and experiencing a new 9/11- style terrorist attack.

This viewpoint was as apparent as ever during the House Judiciary Committee’s final “Patriot” Act hearing, where your pressure ensured C4L was heard in front of Congress.

The problem for our politicians, and in fact for all Americans who feel “safer” after trading some of their liberties, is that 9/11 didn’t occur because of a failure to gather useable intelligence. Rather, it occurred because of the bureaucrats’ failure to use the intelligence that had been gathered.

This is typical of the federal government. Whenever it fails to do its jobs properly, its solution is to throw more money at the problem and grab more power.

The abominable acts that occurred on 9/11 were unjustifiable, but we cannot allow the White House and Congress to destroy the rights and liberties that made this nation great!

Contact Sen. Maria Cantwell by phone at (202) 224-3441 and Sen. Patty Murray by phone at (202) 224-2621 to demand they vote against renewing the “Patriot” Act on every vote – including each cloture vote.

Campaign for Liberty has done everything we can to make our position clear to the politicians on Capitol Hill. Now it’s up to grassroots activists like you to make your voices heard and turn up the heat.

Politics really is just a game of numbers. Will your call be the one that changes your senators’ vote from “YEA” to “NAY”?

Please, help C4L restore our civil liberties and roll back the surveillance state by taking just a few minutes out of your day to call your senators.

Remember Benjamin Franklin’s wise words, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

The choice whether or not to continue giving up essential Liberty is ours to make today.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. My staff and I have spent countless hours doing what we can to fight the so-called “Patriot” Act over the last three months. If you are able, please consider chipping in $10 to help C4L continue fighting for the restoration of our liberties.
