Letter to Governor Gregoire

Dear Gov. Gregoire,

My name is Frank Colletti, and I am a constituent of yours. I live in Pierce County, in the city limits of Tacoma. I am also one of the many legally authorized Medical Cannabis patients in the State of Washington, and in the United States in general. I am one of those, who like many others, have been arrested for my medicine, simply for being in possession of it, and smelling like it.

I was in the City of Fife, and the Police Officers there have a known dislike for the Medical Cannabis patients that have come through their jurisdiction. I, like many others, have been a victim of what is known in the current legal structure related to Medical Cannabis as "Police Discretion." That discretion is the major issue solved by this current legislative bill, SB 5073.

I know that you have read the bill, and understand it's implications, and I urge you to consider passing it in it's entirety. I have avidly followed the bill since it's inception, and original construction, on through it's many changes it's taken since then. I feel in it's current form, it will essentially solve many of the problems that are currently afflicting those of us in the Medical Cannabis community.

We seek an appropriate measure of protection, that which should have been included in the original re-writing of our RCW 69.51A. That which is inclusive of the protections for patients, a voluntary, state-run, patient registry, and also the major implications of increasing protections for patients as they relate to discrimination and medical transplantation.

These all are included in the current structure of the bill, and again I ask you to please consider signing the bill in to law, so that I, and all the rest of us in Washington that have an authorization, will never have to be arrested again.

Thank you for your time,
Frank Colletti

Response from Senator Patty Murray

Dear Mr. Colletti:

Thank you for contacting me to share your support for women's reproductive rights.  It was good to hear from you.

One of my top priorities as a Senator – and as a mother – is to ensure that all women in this country are able to make decisions about their bodies and their health. I believe the government must not interfere with a woman's private decisions, and it is imperative that Congress remains vigilant in protecting this right.

In the 112th Congress, anti-choice Members of both chambers have introduced a number of bills that would place dramatic restrictions on reproductive health services.  These bills would endanger women's health by severely limiting their access to affordable reproductive health services. It would prohibit women from using their own personal funds to buy insurance that covers abortion, as well as raise taxes on businesses that offer abortion coverage in their insurance plans.  In addition, the House Republicans' proposed budget for the remainder of the fiscal year would completely eliminate Title X funding for family planning and teen pregnancy prevention.

This assault on women's health is wrong and would be truly devastating if actually enacted.  It is an extreme agenda that restricts health care options for women and does nothing to further our goals of getting our economy back on track.  I have worked in my leadership position, as well as a senior member of both the Senate Appropriations Committee as well as the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee to fight against these attacks.  Cutting off these important programs and services would be absolutely wronand I will continue to do everything I can in the Senate to fight it.

I believe that in these tough times our focus should be on getting the economy back on track and people back to work, not putting insecurity back into the lives of millions of women.  It is time that we move our economy forward, and not pull women's health care backwards.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this important issue. I want to assure you that I will continue to monitor all anti-choice legislation that comes before the Senate. If you would like to know more about my work in the Senate, please feel free to sign up for my weekly updates at http://murray.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=GetEmailUpdates

Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,Patty Murray
United States Senator

What did I do?

So, I just finished ranting on the UStream, for Polymatheism Rant of the Day check it out here.

Basically, I talk a little bit about work environments, and why people have certain attitudes, and preconceived notions about others. There's a certain anthropological order and it is almost instinctual.

It's almost like you could be watching an episode of "Wild Planet" on the Discovery Channel. Lawl.

(In an Australian accent)
"Now here we're witnessing some of the lower order of primates, and there seems to be a chain of responsibility."

M. says to F. "Just don't worry about anything else, just do your job. Okay?"

F. says "Okay. I've been doing my job, and I've been doing C.'s job, and I've just been trying to help. But, okay, I'll just do my job."

"Here we can see, that there seems to be a conflict to be the alpha male." -says the Australian narrator.

Now, before I go any further, and make fun of someone, based on things that may have been said in one way or another. Why don't I just stop here. I'm not going to talk shit about someone else, because I'm not like that. All I'm trying to say, is that there's a fucked up level of interaction in workplaces now-a-days, and it's ridiculous. It's almost degenerative. I have proof too. There is an insane turnover rate in this type of work.

Which is understandable. It is a stressful job, and the fact is a non-profit organization can't afford to pay people what they're truly worth. Either way, there is almost certainly the possibility that we could all just get along and do a good job, and help people get their medicine. I could have just been helpful, and kept my mouth shut, and to myself, and that's what i was attempting to do. However, I was cut off right before I would have been able to flourish. Which is sad.

Volunteers

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for people who are interested in donating time instead of money. Although money would be appreciated, and there are links on the website on how to donate.

But right now, I want to talk a little bit about volunteer work. I wanted to take an opportunity to not only talk about what I need, but also make a point. I think everyone should do some kind of volunteer work, because it just makes you feel good about yourself.

And that being said, I'm looking for volunteers. I need a digital army folks. People who are at least minimally techno savvy, but I would accept help from every Polymatheist that can do anything (that's all of you!) And, I would like to thank my first two volunteers who have already basically signed on with me to be my personal assistants. These two just happen to be personal friends as well, so I'm gonna Shout Out to my Brother Sandy D. and my Sister Kalae. I love you guys!

Hey, so if you want to get involved, contact me on the website, by e-mailing me or send me a tweet, i'm constantly on twitter. and if you mention me, i'll get it. @polymatheism

Thanks everyone, have a fantasticly positive day,

Cannabis is STILL illegal in 2011?

You know, if you were from the future and were able to travel back to the past, and came to this time, I think you would be utterly confused. First, you would want to go to the major metropolitan areas, and see what they are like, being that they contain the most diverse population of people available for the time.

You would find that those people, at least a vast majority of them, are actually rather forward thinking. However, even though they agree with the ideals of civil rights, and of the right to one's own body, they don't really do anything about it. They don't get active or involved. They don't participate in their government, with the exception of a small few, who happen to vote. However, there were even a smaller few, that happen to get even more involved than voting. They volunteer their time to further causes that are important to them.

However, what you would find most confusing, for someone from your time, let's say 2111, a century in the future. You would be used to ALL drugs being completely legal, and regulated. You would also be aware of the consequences of drug use, and which drugs have what risks. You would make choices based on that information, to be informed about what you put into your own body, but you know that you would be the one ultimately responsible for how that ends up.

And with that information, you might even be willing to start being a regular user of Cannabis. Possibly for medical necessity, however, it might even be for recreational purposes, and that's fine. In your time, that's perfectly normal, and not looked down upon, seeing as how most people whom use drugs recreationally at this point, do so safely because they're so well controlled and regulated, it's almost impossible to fathom an overdose or "Bad Hit" or "Hot Load" or whatever other slang you choose.

However, most likely, you would probably choose to use Cannabis, for recreational purposes. Which is, in a way, medically relevant anyway. Because, studies show that those who are able to relax and deal with stress, and have some kind of hobby, or recreational pastime, actually live longer, and have reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.

That is fact. And to further the proof that recreational use of cannabis can be medically beneficial. Cannabis is used in the regulation of the digestive tract. Because of it's promotility, it is actually medically beneficial to anyone, anytime, period.

So you would probably be studying some of the patterns about the people that you would come to interact with in our time. You would notice that there are several people arrested and put into jails because of their drug use, which would probably seem, in itself, criminal to you. Because it is so backwards, to think that these people who are sick, the ones that are horribly afflicted by addiction, not necessarily the casual recreational users, the addicts that are several abusive of their drugs; to think that these people would be put into jail rather than treated in hospitals.

That's like putting an autistic man into jail for assault, because he lashed out at someone that came to close to him, when he didn't know any better, he had no idea what was going on, just that it was unpleasant.

And this is exactly the same thing, we take our sickest people, some of which are the best kind of people, that can actually be so much more, and rather than helping them, we just put them into a place that is ultimately more destructive and devastating to not only their lives, but everyone's life that they come into contact, or have a relationship, with.

This, is what would be most to disturbing to you.

You would also find, that there are people using Cannabis in a "semi-legal" fashion, which would also seem extremely strange to you. You would be most put-off by this idea when you started to examine what kind of foundation it was built upon. This is really, the most interesting, and probably the most disturbing part about the whole story.

Here you would find a large group of people who did take proper use of the political system, and the advantages that it comes with. Democracy is a powerful tool, when applied properly.

This group of people banded together, and through their own volition were able to pass an initiative which allowed them to legally possess, grow, obtain, transport, and use their cannabis for medical purposes, as long as they had a doctor or other "authorized healthcare professional" give them a recommendation.
And along with this, this allowed them the right to not be prosecuted in court, provided they could provide documentation.

However, if you were to examine this a little more closely, you would find severe cracks in that foundation. The main cracks are due to the fact that even though this initiative was able to legalize the use of cannabis in the state of washington, you would find that people are still arrested every day because of their legally obtained and possessed medical marijuana. And this is for a threefold set of reasons:

1. Because "Marijuana" is maintained federally controlled as a class 1 narcotic, the drug is still considered for all intents and purposes "illegal" regardless of the fact that the voters of the state have passed an initiative which legalizes it for medical use. Which should have precedence over the domain of legality in our state, because our state constitution supercedes the federal constitution.

2. Due to this illegality on a federal level, state regulators have been very wishy-washy in their terminology and usages in the structure of the law, and it's interpretation. This has caused major difficulties in law enforcement, and patient arrest. As well as jurisdicitional problems, and problems with legally opening dispensaries for patients to obtain their medication, because the different cities and counties interpret the law differently.

3. Because of the fact that "Marijuana" remains illegal on a federal level, even if we are to completely "Legalize" it in the state, it would remain on the United States Controlled Substances Act, and therefore remain a federal crime, and would conflict with the laws of the state. Therefore, the Governor would have no choice but to veto the law and comply with federal regulations.

Here's where we, as someone in 2011, can do something to change this. You can get informed, involved, and initiate. You need to get as much information about Cannabis, that you can, and make sure it's completely factual. Don't get any information from websites such as Google or Bing. Please reference somewhere like a library, or a peer review medical journal. These locations would have valuable, FACTUAL, information. And that is the Key, because there is too much mis-information available on the internet these days, and it's too easy for someone with ideals to find a website with someone who agrees with those ideals. That is why polymatheism.com is backed up with evidence and references to factual non-fiction literature.

Also, get involved. You can do more than just vote. You can get politically active by contacting your congressmen or senators, and by writing to the house of representatives and the senate. If you feel like you can do more than that, because not everyone can, then you could also choose to volunteer for an organization that works to further the cause, such as NORML, or Sensible. I personally volunteer for Tacoma Cross, and they're working hard every day to further the cause.

And lastly, you can initiate, and this means both to initiate the uninitiated and also to write initiatives to help remove criminal penalties for Cannabis, and eventually all drugs. Because criminalizing it, just makes the people who are afflicted by this, criminals. And that doesn't help anyone. We need to take a look at this matter from a different perspective, and a different way of thinking. And that would be to just get the debate on the table, and let's figure this out, and how we should do it. It needs to happen.

Drugs aren't going away, not now, not ever. And throughout human history, we've always had some form of intoxication. And even if we were able to get rid of every drug that exists now, someone would just invent something new that gets you high. Chemistry is a fact of life. And Chemistry is why we have drugs in the first place. Molecules like to bind to receptors, and receptors were made for molecules to bind to them, it's a symbiotic relationship that will never end, and will never go away.

Humans use drugs every day, in all walks of life. In all forms of political structure, government, religion, whatever...

There will always be some form of drugs, and so we need to learn how to live with them, and manage the epidemic of addiction, and learn how to safely manage our lives with these drugs that are already here.

We need to be sensible people. We need to re-evaluate our thinking, and it's time we finally did something about it. Please act now. I've talked with the aids for two senators in the last week, how about you?

Medical Cannabis' Efficacy

Let's talk a little bit today about medical Cannabis, and it's efficacy as it pertains to certain medical conditions. Namely, today, I'd like to address it's efficacy in gastric pro-motility.

My condition, a complication from Type 1 diabetes mellitus, is called gastroparesis, which describes the paralysis of the gastric nerve, and overall peristalsis action. This causes a backup from the end up, and if you imagine a sewage line, getting back up, it's got to go somewhere, and that ends up causing me to have severe nausea and emesis.

Because of this, (and I've had this verified via radiological study), my gastric emptying time (which would normally average approximately 90 minutes) is actually 2,280 minutes, about 24 times longer, or a day and a half.

Now, that was a study done un-medicated. I myself have been medicating with medical grade Cannabis for about 3 years now, since then, and I currently live a normal life, and only suffer from occasional bouts of nausea and vomitting about every other day, as opposed to every day, all day.

I've realized a drastic improvement in my health, and quality of life, which have immensely been improved.
I have Cannabis to thank for this.

Now, just to remind any readers that may be confused about exactly what Cannabis is, that would also be known as Marijuana, Weed, Pot, 420, Herb, and about a billion other names.

So, now, how do you feel about medical marijuana?

Holy shit, Mortal Kombat, Again??

Wow, it's been several years since I've actually enjoyed a Mortal Kombat game, but after watching the previews for the next Mortal Kombat installment, called just "Mortal Kombat," it appears I may be ready to be satisfied. I haven't enjoyed the previous installments in the recent years, because of several reasons, but mainly because they took what was a fun style of a fighting game, and simply ruined it when they added things like weapons and the crappy engine.

But, I think this one actually looks reasonable. Who knows though, I've been fooled before by a great pre-gameplay video, and non-game footage.

We shall see what happens when the actual game is released.

Other Atheist Podcast of the Week

Hello again everyone, Please check out this website and podcast called http://www.irreligiosophy.com/ and please subscribe to check it out.

Chuck and Leighton are hilarious, and give a great perspective. Being that they were both former Mormons, one very studiously so. And talk about a lot of the hidden things the Mormon church would rather you never heard about. Like "God" being a physical man, from a different solar system, that physically came to the Earth to fornicate with and impregnate Mary, in order for her to give birth to Jesus.

And that Jesus actually already had a second coming, to the Native American Indians of the time before the 15th century. And at some point, he taught them that they were the lost tribe of Jews, and that the entire reason they were banished to the other, non-populated side of the world, was because they hadn't believed in christ then, and now they were being given a new opportunity.

(This is the story as I understand it, I may be wrong, it's difficult to obtain actually documents from the Mormon church or the LDS church, because they're very secretive and protective over their holy books and documents."

So, again, I really recommend you check out Irreligiosophy, it means "The wisdom of Irreligion" and is somewhat similar to my word "Polymatheism" being a conglomeration of Polymath and Atheist.

Thanks again for checking out the website, and please register for the forum. It's free and quick & easy to sign up. Also, if you like what you've read or heard so far, and feel like you want to see more, a small donation would be appreciated, as I pay for the domain space and hosting myself to be able to provide all this lovely content. And also, I don't have a job, I'm disable, so all of my time is also not recouped in any way either. So the more donations I get, the better kinds of media and content I can provide you, and the better the opportunities for you to help me make this more about you.

What would Carl Sagan say? (If he were still alive today?)

Another segment that will be recurring in the blog, is What would Carl Sagan say? (or wwcss.) And, I think of it as the response to "WWJD?". What would Carl say if he were still alive today? Well, I'd like to think that if he were told that someone was trying to cut the funding for Planned Parenthood, an organization that saves lives and protects the youth of America from making LIFE ALTERING mistakes, mistakes that they would never be able to correct if they let the baby come to full term.

I realize that some people may have the opinion that within the human body or wherever, somehow exists an "Eternal Soul" which is supposedly endowed upon us from the moment of conception. I have significant reservations about accepting such an argument without evidence.

Where is the proof of the existence of this so-called "Eternal Soul?"

Show me one example of a "Soul" in nature, or some example of a scientific or mathematical model supporting the theory of the possibility of "Eternal Life."

Also, if this "Soul" is eternal, then it has to exist somewhere outside of SpaceTime, because while we know that the universe is infinitely finite, (i know that's an oxymoron, but it's true) it's infinite in size, yet bounded in on itself. You will never reach an outer wall of the universe, and yet, if you were to travel straight in one direction endlessly, you would eventually end up back where you started. Assuming, you could theoretically travel faster than the speed of light, and somehow survive the trip.

It would be necessary to travel faster than the speed of light, because the universe is actually expanding at the speed of light, and therefore, unless you travel faster than c, you would never be able to catch the universe as it outruns you from expansion.

So, these things tell me that in order for a "soul" to be eternal, it would have to exist outside of Spacetime, and therefore would have no discernible effect on this universe.
The same is said to go for "God", how could "God" be said to exist, if in order for him to exist, he would have to exist outside of SpaceTime, and therefore would not be able to have any effect on this universe either.

And lastly, my final point is actually not about religion at all, it's simply about rights. You have rights as a citizen of this country, (assuming your a citizen of the US), and those rights should be utterly under your control, no one else's. And we should not be attempting to legislate what a consenting adult is able to do with their own bodies.

There are several examples of where the religious right wing is butting in and trying to legislate away behavior that it deems "sin."
Namely: Drugs, and Drug Prohibition, Prostitution, Abortion, Birth Control, and Gay Marriage. Which, I have to say is another asinine point of political debate. It shouldn't be anyone's business who's sexual preference is what. And also, what is the Government doing trying to legislate a religious ritual? If you want to get married in a church, you shouldn't have to worry about the governmental side of things, (with the exception of obtaining the appropriate licenses), you should only have to worry about what the church asks of you.

And if you don't want to get married in a church, just get a Civil Union, which you can still officially call a "Marriage" but for the sake of religious argument, you can call it a Civil Union, and protect the difference between a religious "Marriage" and a governmentally and legally binding Civil Union.

Lastly, this keeps the government out of the Religion business, and protects our first amendment right to the separation between church and state.

Thank you,
Frank Colletti

That's pretty much it for now

How can I make a difference?

I have been receiving e-mails lately from Planned Parenthood, because I signed up for their action network at http://istandforplannedparenthood.org And I found that they were sending me information about the current Senate and House Budgets for the fiscal bi-annum of 2011-2013. And they are trying to cut the funding for Planned Parenthood on a federal and state level.

It's absolutely ludicrous, I can't believe that they would be trying to close down Planned Parenthood. This organization does more to prevent teen pregnancy and STD, and also to help save lives with abortions and other medically necessary operations that prevent mothers and babies from dying.

This important organization needs our support, and you can show yours, not financially; but physically, by signing up for the mailing list at http://istandforplannedparenthood.org and getting involved. I called both state senators in the last week, Senator Maria Cantwell and Senator Janea Holmquist-Newbry.

And I just want to remind everyone that while voting is an important aspect to achieving what we need in government.

However, we absolutely need to remind these representatives on a regular basis
what their job is for, and who they represent.

How can you make a difference? Get involved. Find a cause, something, anything that you feel passionate
about, and make an effort. Volunteer, educate, help people understand what we're trying to accomplish.

Band of the Week

Lovers and Liars, the Band of the Week, have a fantastic album that I recommend you pick up as soon as possible, called Before and After the Awakening.

This band brings a new style to rock, with a soft style of vocals, and a very progressively influenced guitar and piano setup. I love the use of syncopation and the very dynamic range brought out by the entire band.
They meld together very well, and sound like they've been very refined and classically trained. Which I enjoy in a band.

When the members of the band all meld well with each other, and have been classically trained, they can make some extremely soothing music.

Check them out as soon as possible, also, check out Stephen's (the drummer) YouTube and Twitter, @DrummerEtc, and his website at www.drummeretc.com

Drummer of the Week

I myself am a drummer, and love the sound of all percussion. I even play piano, which is also a percussion instrument (if you don't believe me, google it), but anyway, I just want to introduce a new subject which I will talk about in the blog weekly, Drummer of the Week.

This week, I decided to pick Stephen Taylor of Lovers and Liars, which I also decided to make Lovers and Liars the Band of the Week, they have a fantastic album that I recommend you pick up as soon as possible, called Before and After the Awakening.
Check them out now, at https://www.facebook.com/LoversLiars?v=wall&viewas=0

His drumming style is heavily influenced by Stewart Copeland, Miles Davis, and John Bonham just to name a few.

I love the sound of the album, Before and After the Awakening. It's fantastic, like a futuristic rock record with a mix of a ballad sound with a little bit of technical sound and great progressive influence.
Magnificent record, and a Phenomenal band. Please check them out.

Check them out as soon as possible, also, check out Stephen's YouTube and Twitter, @DrummerEtc, and his website at www.drummeretc.com

Episode 2 - Now Available for download!

Hey all, please check out Episode 2 of Polymatheism.

Now available for download from our website polymatheism.com and soon to be available for download in the iTunes store. I found out that the feed that I submitted to iTunes was a little fucked up, because I was using this thing called buzzsprout, and now i'm hosting everything through my webhost on my domain. So, I had to resubmit a new RSS feed to iTunes, and hopefully they'll fix that soon.

So, this week's Episode is going to be a lot different from our first episode, we actually do this in a live format. We just talk straight from the topics that we had planned, no script or anything. No editing or cutting either, except to place the intro to the front of it.

So we hope you enjoy the new name and the new format if you somehow listened to and liked our first show.
From now on, you can expect it to pretty much go like it did this week. We might extend the time a little if people don't mind 90 minutes or more. So far, 80 - 90 minutes has worked well for our format.

We give Adam Carolla this week's Polymatheist of the Week and Cool Shit Award of the Week.

We discuss my assault at NRC in Tacoma.

Talk a little about some great books:

The Hidden Reality -- Brian Greene
The Grand Design -- Stephen Hawking
What Do You Care, What Other People Think? -- Richard Feynman
Genius: The Life and Science of Richard Feynman -- James Gleik

Introduce a new recurring segment called "Mysteries behind the 'Quantum Veil'"
in which, we talk about Quantum Entanglement.

And we close the show talking about current government regulations dictating label information on nutrients and other plant products.

Thank you for visiting, and please remember to follow the blog, follow us on Twitter @polymatheism, and Like us on Facebook.

Adam Carolla

Just got done reading an interview from HighTimes, the May 2011 issue, and it's got an interview with Adam Carolla. I would just like to start by giving props to Adam Carolla for being a celebrity with the balls to speak out in the name of the Truth, and Reason. And I'd also like to point out that he is a Polymatheist in the utmost sense of the word. I find that he's not really specialized in any one thing, and in fact, he is an Atheist.

Therefore, I'm adding Adam Carolla to the list of Polymatheists in History.

Some things that Adam had to speak about:

The attitude that general menial peons have with the general public,
"Cops aren't supposed to have an attitude -- not when they're dealing with noncriminals. (emphasis added) Of course Mussolini had an attitude -- the guy was a dictator! Saddam Hussein is supposed to have an attitude. But the chick over at Alaska Airlines who's telling me that I gotta go back to the gate to get my bag because no one told me there was a gate check -- she should drop her fucking attitude. She's a peon." -- Adam Carollla pg.86 May 2011 HighTimes

"Obviously pot is not an issue.Methamphetamine is an issue, but politicians never want to make a distiction between the two drugs. Just: "All drugs are drugs, they're all bad, they're all illegal, they should be eradicated, and our kids shouldn't be exposed to any of them." And we all know pot is really nothing and that there are many more drugs -- including alcohol -- that cause much more damage than pot. I found out about five years ago that we spend more money on pot eradication than we do on methamphetamine eradication, and I fucking almost threw up in my mouth."

Dude, I can completely fucking agree. I can't believe in this country, in the year 2011, when we have the benefit of endless amounts of FACTUAL information about all types of drugs, that anyone would advocate that Cannabis should be illegal.

There is no evidence that Cannabis causes any detrimental effects to any part of the body, with the exception of smoking it, which can cause bronchitis through excessive use. However, the Cannabis can't be blamed for this, inhaling the smoke from any plant being burned contains carbon-monoxide and other carcinogenic properties.

Anyway, nowadays, it's not even fashionable to smoke your Cannabis anymore anyway. Most dispensaries, are starting to promote more and more of the edibles, drinks, tinctures, oils, butters, and concentrates for use in vaporizers. Vaporizing is the way to go, seriously, Getting all of the health benefits, and none of the risk.

But anyway, That's all for now, I just wanted to give serious props for Adam Carolla, and congratulations for being top audio podcast at the 2009 iTunes Rewind Awards.

National Day of Reason

I want to let everyone know to check this site out, it's called http://www.nationaldayofreason.org/
and it's about promoting critical thinking and logic. And anyone listening to the podcast or following the polymatheist philosophy should very strongly support this.

Don't Go To Nature's Resource Center in Freighthouse Square in Tacoma, Washington

On Friday April 8, 2011 at about 12:08 pm, I was parking outside Freighthouse Square, before going to NRC. And I was holding a parking spot for my wife, who was in the car, turning it around.

This guy in a suburban, comes up and is yelling at me because I'm in the parking space. I told him "I'm holding it for my wife" and he tried to tell me "You can't hold a space."

To which, I responded "My wife is right over there."

He then tried to edge up to me with his Suburban (when I say that, I mean Chevrolet Suburban) and almost hit me. So I asked "Are you going to hit me with your car?"

He then stopped, and said "No, I"m not gonna hit you with my car, but I AM gonna get you." Then he took off, and turned around at the stop light, so he could pull into the parking garage at FS.

Then, my wife pulled the car up, and parked.
She stayed in the car, and I went inside.

12:12pm

While I was sitting inside NRC, minding my own business. The same guy from the parking space altercation came into NRC, while I was sitting down, and got in my face and started yelling "You thought you wasn't gonna see me again, huh?" Then struck me in the face with his right hand.

Then said something that I didn't make out, and walked away.

Immediately after this happened, I asked the two gentlemen who were sitting there, who witnessed the event, if they had seen what happened and would they be willing to be witnesses for me.

Then, I called 911 so that I could report it to the police.

During this time, while I was waiting and before I was assaulted, no one from NRC was around to see this. No employees were actually watching their storefront. Also, There was no protection for me to have not been accosted by this person once he came into the building.

I would not advise going to NRC because of this, it's very dangerous.
There is also no security, and no camera coverage that I was able to see.

Finally, after I had made most of my police report over the phone, the dispatcher needed an address of the location, and Cat (or Kat, I'm not sure) the woman who runs the place, finally came up to the window and I asked for the address.

She read me the address while I read it to the dispatcher over the phone, and then finished up my description to the dispatcher. Once I did, Cat asked what had happened. I told her that I was just assaulted on their property.

When I told her that I was reporting it to the police, she said "Oh, I don't want you bringing the police down here, Frank. If I had known that's what that was for, I wouldn't have given them the address."

She then told me that she didn't want me bringing the police near them, and that they couldn't help me. When I told them that I thought it was possible they could be sued because this happened ON THEIR PROPERTY, AFTER I had "checked-in" as a patient waiting to be seen.

She became very upset, saying that I can't sue them for instigating something in their place of business.

I told her that I hadn't instigated anything, that this was over some dumb parking space, and she was still insisting that I couldn't bring the police there, and so I walked away.

Then, after I dealt with the police, and gave them my description of the person and the events as they happened. I was even willing to go back into NRC, and state my case to them, and apologize for that happening there. However, when I went back in, as I was approaching, David(the other person who runs the place), said to me "You're not allowed here anymore."

I wouldn't go back there if someone was paying me to go pick up free weed.

Last week, while I was taking my wife to work after stopping by a dispensary that I frequent, I was pulled over by Fife police for a "Defective Exhaust",  (of which I didn't even know it was an infraction to have a noisy muffler) and certainly had never been pulled over before because of it.
However, once the officer approached my vehicle, he leaned into my window and took a big whiff of me, (which anyone who's ever been to subway knows, you go home reeking of the place), and of course smelled marijuana.

Once I gave him my registration he returned to his vehicle and, I assume he called backup and began running my information. Within about 2 min. or less, he had a canine unit and another backup officer on scene. The officers ask me how much "marijuana" was in the car at the time, I told the officers that I am a legal, medically authorized cannabis user, and handed them my original valid tamper–proof authorization from my healthcare professional.

He again asked, “How much marijuana is in the vehicle?” and I admitted that I was in possession of about a gram.
Then, he asked me to step out of the vehicle and put my hands behind my back.

They also asked if I had a "medical marijuana card", as if that would have been valid, and while I didn't realize it; it was, in fact, on my person.
Then, the officers attempted to explain their interpretation of the law. Telling me that I was required to get my cannabis and immediately take it home, because the authorization was not a "pass to keep pot on me at all times."
One officer then tried to make an analogy about a prescription for Vicodin. He said, "if I had a prescription for Vicodin I couldn't just take that anywhere I want it."

Which, I believe he was trying to make a reference about not being able to use drugs any time or place. However, as I understand the law, as long as I am not doing it in a public place or in view of minors, it should be okay in any private residence where smoking is allowed (with some exceptions). However, this was not even a matter of the situation, it was simply that it was in my possession, shouldn’t had matter, if they had verified my authorization.
Also, they made a comment that there are several fake authorizations around, and that they had no way to tell if it was real. I then informed them that my authorization was printed and signed on an original tamper-evident paper, and there was both a website and phone number they could call to verify the authenticity of my documentation.

At this time, they also informed me that my authorization was merely an affirmative defense in court, and did not prevent them from arresting me. Then, they began searching me for any possessions that may have been related to drug offenses. They found approximately one gram of cannabis, which I had just purchased about 20 minutes prior at my licensed dispensary and my pipe (medical device) which was for the use of my medical cannabis.
Once they were done searching me I had already been handcuffed and placed in the back of the police car. During the ride over the arresting officer even commented that he was only doing his job and he felt bad about all of us that are arrested for this, and really it was the people abusing the system that made everything harder on all of us.
Then I was searched again once I reached the police station, afterward I had found that they'd left something in my pocket so I had to turn that in after I'd been placed the jail. It was a simple little drum key, but I didn't want it to be thrown away, or be accused of smuggling some contraband. So, I informed the officer that they had missed it, and asked it be placed with my things.
I had to wait for an hour and a half. During my wait, I was forced to listen to the booking officers as they made jokes about my medical marijuana and about "reefer" and "doobies" and that kind of thing, along with a reference to sitting in the one officer’s car and listening to some “great tunes, while getting stoned.”
All the while I’m left in a jail cell to feel embarrassed and humiliated and bereft. I felt impinged, and upset, and distressed. Extremely persecuted, and utterly humiliated, I was finally fingerprinted and photographed in my broken and miserable state. Which, all this, coming just one day after having all my upper teeth were extracted to be  replaced with dentures.
While I was still swollen, and in severe pain, these police officers sat and made jokes at my expense and about my medicine that allows me to have some semblance of a normal life. I wonder if I were getting my marijuana because of chemotherapy if I would have been treated any differently. However, because I appear to be healthy and fit, they discriminate and prejudge, and book first; ask questions later.

Polymatheism - Introduction

This is the very first blog about Polymatheism. I would just like to start by defining the term Polymatheist, a Polymatheist is someone that is a polymath (an expert in nearly everything) and an atheist, a freethinker, skeptic, and non-believer of religious dogma.

Someone who goes against the grain, and always seeks truth, and knowledge.
